“My father, Pedro Vasquez Loredo Jr., shaped how I understand service. He was Green Beret, Ranger, Special Forces, and Airborne during the Vietnam War, and he brought that same discipline, steadiness, and responsibility home to his family. Every veteran who walks through our doors is a reminder of what he gave. Our practice approaches veterans the way he would have wanted: with precision, respect, and the understanding that you have already earned the right to expect our best.”

How We Serve Veterans Today

Care for Veterans Through the VA Community Care Network

Loredo Hand Care Institute participates in the VA Community Care Network under the MISSION Act of 2018. Enrolled veterans who receive a referral or authorization through their VA healthcare provider may receive covered hand, wrist, and elbow evaluation and treatment at our Southlake office. Our billing team coordinates directly with the VA so the patient’s focus stays on care, not paperwork.

The MISSION Act of 2018 expanded veterans’ access to community providers when VA facilities are not readily available, are more than a certain drive time away, or cannot meet wait-time standards. Eligibility is determined by the VA, not by the practice.

Veteran Questions

Questions Veterans Ask

Current program, current address, current phone number.

Is the Veterans Choice Program still how veterans get care at Loredo Hand Care Institute?

No. The Veterans Choice Program was replaced by the VA Community Care Network under the MISSION Act of 2018. Loredo Hand Care Institute participates in the VA Community Care Network today. Some older pages, directory listings, and cached search results still describe the practice under the former Veterans Choice Program name; the current program is the VA Community Care Network.

What phone number should a veteran call to reach Loredo Hand Care Institute?

Call (972) 939-4974 during office hours: Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 5 PM, and Friday 9 AM to 1 PM. Some older listings and cached search results show a different toll-free number or the former Grapevine address. The current and correct number is (972) 939-4974, and the office is in Southlake.

Where do veterans go for their appointment with Dr. Loredo?

The primary office is at 431 E State Hwy 114, Suite 380, Southlake, TX 76092, minutes from DFW International Airport. The former Grapevine office at 220 North Park Blvd is closed and is no longer a clinic. A Dallas satellite office at 4211 Cedar Springs Rd, 2nd Floor, is open the third Friday of every month.

How does a veteran get referred to Dr. Loredo through VA Community Care?

Eligibility and referrals are determined by the VA, not by the practice. A veteran's VA healthcare provider issues a referral or authorization for community care under the MISSION Act of 2018, generally when VA facilities are not readily available, are more than a certain drive time away, or cannot meet wait-time standards. Once the authorization is issued, call (972) 939-4974 to schedule.

What will a veteran pay for VA-authorized hand surgery?

Care authorized by the VA is billed directly to the VA by our office, and the billing team coordinates with the VA so the paperwork does not fall to the patient. Any copayment is set by the VA, not by the practice. Confirm the details of your specific authorization with your VA healthcare provider.

What hand, wrist, and elbow conditions can veterans be referred for?

Carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, thumb basilar joint arthritis, De Quervain's tendonitis, fractures, tendon and nerve injuries, and other hand, wrist, and elbow conditions. Dr. Loredo treats the full upper extremity, including the forearm and elbow.

To schedule, call Loredo Hand Care Institute.

Veterans referred through the VA Community Care Network are welcomed at our Southlake office.
